Sweet Baby Faces *updated*

Image
Hey, y'all, We had our 30 week prenatal appointment and ultrasound today.  Our doctor (whom we didn't see last time) said she was going through withdrawals not seeing us (we've been blessed to see her every single time this pregnancy except for our last appointment)!  We love her!  I wish she could be our pediatrician, too, haha!! I'm measuring right on track (up 18 pounds total--yikes!), and Baby Boy looks great ! He's measuring 3.3 pounds and is growing right on target. He's in the 40th percentile, which is normal. *Bonus* He's already in the right position (head down), so we're good to go there :) We were treated to a long ultrasound, and she even got a couple of great shots for us to keep, including this 4D image (during the ultrasound, the 4D imaging allowed us to watch him suck and smack his lips!). I know some people are having trouble "seeing" him, so here's my best explanation: Most of the picture is of his f

30 Weeks - Pregnancy #2

Each Sunday, I'd like to do a  highlights post , including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from  Kelly .  I did this with my pregnancy with Hadley, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.  I'll probably write these on Saturday nights and attach the picture the next day.  That way I can stay semi-technology free :) Pregnancy Highlights: How far along :  30 weeks - Third Trimester Size of baby:   Baby Boy is around 17 inches crown to feet and weighs as much as a butternut squash (about 3 pounds) Total weight gain/loss :  So far, I'm up 16 pounds total this pregnancy. Maternity clothes:   I *heart* maternity clothes :) Gender:   A very bouncy baby boy Movement :  I think he's very active.  He doesn't move all day long, but when he gets going, he's a mover and a shaker! Sleep :  Eh.  It i

Almost Perfect

Do y'all know what today was? No? I didn't either. Well, apparently , it was "The Husband Loves Me Day ."  I didn't realize!   This is what I found on the kitchen table this morning when I went to fix breakfast. I smiled.   Big . Then, I opened the refrigerator and found these. I smiled.   Bigger .  (He knows my deep affection for cherry limeades!) Then , he got up with his alarm the first time it went off (no small feat for that man!), and he joined me in the kitchen with a big grin and an even bigger hug, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast together. At lunch, I found a sweet note in my lunch bag from him. The day only got better from there. After he picked me up from work, he took me to one of my favorite restaurants, and I got to have my favorite meal there--Mushroom Poblano Quesadillas.  Yum!! After stuffing ourselves silly with delicious food, we came home and watched an episode of my current favorite show, Downton Abbey (LOVE).

Another Busy Weekend

Image
This past weekend, The Husband and I drove down to my parents' house.  Our weekend was jam-packed with events and time spent visiting family and friends, and even though it was exhausting, it was well worth it.   Friday night, we (along with my mom) met up with my aunt and her family and two of my best friends at a benefit concert for the music program at the high school I graduated from.  We had the best time, and Home Free did not disappoint!  If you ever have the opportunity to see them live, do it!  You won't regret it.    Sometimes I feel like I've known these girls forever ;) Waiting for the show to start! Saturday night, my parents, The Husband, and I got all dressed up and headed out to attend the wedding of a guy I've known since middle school.  We were in youth group together, as well.  It was a simple, beautiful wedding.  I'm so happy he's found the perfect gal for him! The reception was like a youth group reunion :) Here I am with

Weekend Events

Image
Y'all, we had a wonderful, crazy-eventful weekend!  I hope yours was just as lovely :) Friday, around noon, I received a text from my sweet friend Tina saying she had two extra tickets and wanted to know if we'd like to join them at a gala benefiting Redeemed Ministries  that evening.  The Husband and I were excited because it's an organization/ministry we TRULY believe in.  I've spoken about it on here before briefly, but this ministry is one that is truly caring for "the least of these."  I am appalled at the numbers of girls in the UNITED STATES who are caught up and are then trapped in the human sex-slave industry.  Please check out their website.  Watch their videos and read about their mission.  And then, like the speaker said Friday night, pray for these girls and this organization; donate what you can to help these girls start a new, safe, redeemed life; or get involved. A sweet little surprise was waiting for us when we got to the gala.  A guy fr

The Pains of Pregnancy

A week or so ago, I pondered and posted my  Top 5 Perks of this pregnancy.  I've had some more time to ponder, and I've decided on my Top 5 Pains.  There were a couple more I could have added, but I really don't want to complain too much as I truly know what an extreme blessing it is to be able to be pregnant in the first place! So here they are in no certain order... The Top 5 Pains #1  The touching.  A few people ask first before caressing my belly, but more people go in for the touch without a second thought as to whether this might bother me or not.  I certainly don't mind my close friends and family doing so.  Their love and excitement are both evident.  But, people who I'm casually acquainted with or who pass me in the store?  It's just weird.   #2  The well-meaning comments.  Now admittedly, I've probably said a few of these things, too, and so this one is more of a "peeve" than a "pain."  Again, people I'm barely a
