Almost Perfect

Do y'all know what today was?

No?

I didn't either.

Well, apparently, it was "The Husband Loves Me Day."  I didn't realize!
 
This is what I found on the kitchen table this morning when I went to fix breakfast.


I smiled.  Big.

Then, I opened the refrigerator and found these.


I smiled.  Bigger.  (He knows my deep affection for cherry limeades!)

Then, he got up with his alarm the first time it went off (no small feat for that man!), and he joined me in the kitchen with a big grin and an even bigger hug, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast together.

At lunch, I found a sweet note in my lunch bag from him.

The day only got better from there.

After he picked me up from work, he took me to one of my favorite restaurants, and I got to have my favorite meal there--Mushroom Poblano Quesadillas.  Yum!!

After stuffing ourselves silly with delicious food, we came home and watched an episode of my current favorite show, Downton Abbey (LOVE).  And then, People, he went with me to my class at the gym.  And, he enjoyed it :)

It's been a great day.  A really, really great one.

Often, that man surprises me.  But, this day of surprises was beyond lovely.  It was almost perfect.

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. Thank you for praying!

**Hehehehe.
