29 Weeks - Pregnancy #4

Image
Each Monday, I'd like to do a  highlights post , including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from  Kelly .  I've done this with my three previous pregnancies (you can go to the search box and type in "pregnancy," or "week #" if you're interested in how my previous pregnancies progressed), as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.   Pregnancy Highlights: How far along :  29 weeks Size of baby:   This little one is a little over 15 inches long (head to toe) and about the weight of a butternut squash.  Total weight gain/loss :  I'm up 17 pounds total as of my appointment last Friday.  Maternity clothes:   spaghetti strap shirts, loose skirts or summery dresses, cute/comfy shorts, flip-flops, long-sleeve soft, fitted shirts Gender:   boy :) 💙 Movemen

Sunday Mornings

Image
"Easy like Sunday morning" means squat in this household. I love Sundays because they mean church and worshiping with family and friends.    But Sunday mornings are often rushed for me. The Husband usually comes home from work and immediately takes a nap, which leaves me to doing everything for everyone. I mean I usually do that anyway, but because we have to be somewhere at a certain time, all of us, I feel flustered and rushed until we actually get in the car and my belt is buckled.  I know it will be twice as difficult once the baby arrives, but for now I'll try to find the joy in the harried moments.  Because these two?      They have really come into their personalities. Jack is starting to have some super fun conversations with us, and Ella is both delightful and determined--a challenging combination. We love them both immensely, and we hope our newest little guy will fit right in with our sweet and crazy bunch :) (I love that they hold hands

Two Things Tuesday

1. I snapped this shot of them yesterday afternoon while they played with the little purple car our neighbors brought over. They had the best time, and we have the best neighbors. We are happy to hold onto the car and the neat rocking airplane for them until they have new little ones arrive in their own family :)   2.  This morning, my parents arrived before the children were up for the day so that The Husband and I could make the trip to my specialist appointment in Houston.  It was a great appointment and Baby #4 is doing really well :). The doctor has high hopes that I'll make it to at least 36 weeks (10 weeks away), so that was great news.  We got to see the baby kick and squirm and open and close his eyes. He also had the hiccups for much of the time we watched him. It's all so neat to see.  He weighs about 2 lbs and 2 ounces (which is nearly a pound ahead of schedule, and all of his measurements look good.  We saw his sweet little face again, and it nearly took

#WhyWednesday

WHY? Here’s my “why” for this Wednesday (and if you read this entire thing, I promise I will hug you long and hard the next time I see you)-- In fact, if you even took the time to click over here and read these first few sentences, you deserve a sticker. I wake up raring to go almost every. single. morning (hence this very early post) when that alarm goes off (even after those nights -- like last night -- where my children decided they would rather be dramatic actors with their blatantly obvious attempts at entertaining the neighborhood with their endless noise and stamina all from the comfort of their beds, you know, instead of stilling their restless bodies and falling into a deep and peaceful slumber 😳). The sweet calmness pictured above is, obviously, an allusion and not my actual reality for most of the day. 😂 Y’all, I get to show people how to live the lives that they want and have the health that they want at the same time. My husband, my mother, several of my de
