Today is Wednesday

Yep.   You saw it here first, People.  Today is, in fact, Wednesday. Weird.  It's been a few weeks since I last posted, not because I haven't had anything to say or show, but because (1) my phone is too full to take any more pictures, so all of the pictures and videos I have are old (at least a few weeks old anyway) and (2) I try to be conscious of the amount of data I'm using (instead, it mostly goes to playing Words with Friends (gotta keep my mind sharp, right?) and checking email and Facebook).  But, I wanted to put out an update (it's a long one) because (A) the kiddos are growing and changing so much and (B) I believe in the power of prayer.  So, the kiddos.  Our boy Jack: Jack is 17 months and one week old.  He is 31 inches tall (I measured him lying down on the rug before bed...so it might not be completely accurate.).  He is a great eater and will try new things without a fuss. I know that can easily change, so I'm appreciative for this. ...

Two Things Tuesday (7/1)

1.  Ella is 2 days old today.  The NICU pediatrician said that once babies make it past 72 hours and are progressing, they much closer to being out of the woods, so we're almost there. Some updates: She's almost off the increased pressure on her room air.  She's taking tube feedings with the milk I've pumped.  She's finished with the antibiotic. Her blood sugars are looking good. She's still a bit jaundiced, so they're keeping her on the light.  She's having bowel movements without the aid of suppositories.  I got to do almost an hour of skin-to-skin with her this afternoon while she took one of her feedings! I cried. She was so cozy on me and was so tiny to hold. She cried when they moved her back to her bed. I wish I could have taken her with me.  2.  I've been discharged, but they're letting me stay another night to be close to her.  I'm also glad I'm staying because I'm still in a lot of pain, and being near nursing staff who can ...
