25 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Each Sunday, I'd like to do a highlights post, including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from Kelly.  I did this with my pregnancies with Hadley and with Jack, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along:  25 weeks

Size of baby:  Baby Girl is 9 or so inches long (crown to rump)--the size of an eggplant--  12 or so inches crown to feet

Total weight gain/loss: At my appointment last Friday, the scale showed that I've gained 15 pounds so far. Holy.  Moly.

Maternity clothes:  Pajamas, shorts, maxi skirts, and shirts.  Maternity dresses and tops.

Gender:  A sweet baby girl :)

Movement:  She was very, very active during both non-stress tests I had last week, but other than those days, either I'm too busy to notice or she's in a position that I don't feel her as often.

Sleep:  Sleep has been decent.  A few nights in a row my back has really been giving me trouble, and I've found it difficult to sleep.

What I miss:  Hmmm.  Walking to the park without being exhausted by the time we get there!

Cravings:  Sweets

Symptoms:   I've had some sciatic nerve pain this week and a little bit of reflux.

Exercise:  Just walking to the park or in the neighborhood.  Nothing exciting.

Belly Button in or out:  Well, my sister noticed it this weekend, THROUGH MY SHIRT, so it must be out.  Bluh.

Wedding ring on or off: On :)

Happy or moody most of the time:  Both.  Seriously.  Each day is a mix of the two.

Looking forward to:  I guess my non-stress test tomorrow.  I like listening to her heartbeat for 20 mins and feeling her move so often.

Best moment this week:   Getting to see Baby Girl on the ultrasound I had on Friday.  The baby's heart rate dipped below where they'd like to see it go once while being monitored, so I had to have an ultrasound to check that things were ok.  She had the hiccups while we watched her, and we saw her take a few test breaths :).

25 Weeks
Yes, I realize this is a day late.  And, yes I also realize there's no picture.  I had a rough night Saturday night, and Jack's naps were wonky Sunday, so I stayed in pajamas until way late in the day, and that change only occurred because I was going for a walk.  If The Husband has time before class this afternoon, maybe he'll take a picture for me.  If not, it's no biggie :)

If you haven't voted on Baby Girl's name, take a minute and hop on over here to do so!

The Name Game - Revisited

I promised a week ago that I'd post a name poll (especially for Aunt Jan!) before they all leave on their trip next week, and I completely forgot about it until 11pm last night.  Oops!

Forgotten.  That's my memory lately, Folks.

So, this is probably too late for you, Aunt Jan, but here it is anyway.  Have fun voting!

Oh, and Mom, you better put your poker face on when Aunt Jan grills you ;)
Just practice smiling and saying, "You'll find out in August!" :D

I loved ALL of these! The Husband...not so much!  Which name is your favorite, or which do you think we've chosen for our baby girl?

24 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Each Sunday, I'd like to do a highlights post, including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from Kelly.  I did this with my pregnancies with Hadley and with Jack, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along:  24 weeks

Size of baby:  Baby Girl is 8 1/2 or so inches long (crown to rump)--the size of an ear of corn--  11 1/2 or so inches crown to feet

Total weight gain/loss: At my last appointment a couple of weeks ago, I was a whopping 12 1/2 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight.  I'll go back to the doctor for my NST appointments starting this week, but I'm not sure if they'll weigh me or wait until my actual prenatal appointment.

Maternity clothes:  Maternity jeans and shirts; regular dresses, shirts, maxi skirts, and comfy cotton shorts

Gender:  A very kicky baby girl

Movement:  Lots of movement!

Sleep:  Sleep has been good, and the body pillow has made a huge difference

What I miss:  Frontal hugs, haha

Cravings:  Sweets

Symptoms:   I've had some reflux lately near bedtime, but taking a Tums usually helps.

Exercise:  Walking to the park and doing Pilates a couple of times

Belly Button in or out: Barely in

Wedding ring on or off: On :)

Happy or moody most of the time: I've been in a pretty decent mood this week!

Looking forward to:  Good appointments!

Best moment this week:  Watching Jack learn how to pull up on his own!  He's a pro now :)

Monday, Monday

Well, this was originally a "Five Facts Friday" post, but since I haven't gotten around to finishing it until just now, I don't think I can treat it as such, haha.

I've got a few neat things to share first, and then I'll end with a prayer request.

The last week has been filled with so many new things.

Jack started cutting a tooth early last week.  A few fun-filled days later, and he's the proud owner of three teeth. The new one is the top left one. I always thought they made their entrance in pairs. Haha, he's looking a little funny (but so cute!) with two on the bottom and a lone tooth on the top :)

Near the end of last week, our boy finally began pulling himself up on chairs and the coffee table and the play pen and in bed! And is he ever proud of himself?! We're pretty pleased, too!

Then, just this afternoon, he began crawling! He's been scooting in circles and backwards for a few weeks, but today he began moving forward. So so cute! I've gotten several videos, but I haven't been able to post them on here. Here's a blurry still shot :)

This week starts appointment mania for me. I had a dentist appointment today, and tomorrow begins my bi-weekly non-stress tests. I'm not nervous. I've been feeling her move often, and I'm so thankful we've made it this far without complications.

Because we've picked out a name for our girl, and because my mom asked me to do this for my sweet Aunt Jan who REALLY wants to know her name, sometime this week I'll post a "name poll" like we did with Jack. I'll give you our top four or five choices, and if you feel inclined to, you can pick your favorite or try to guess which one we've chosen. :)

Th Husband has been working as a correctional officer for a few weeks now, and the men and women who do that amaze me. To work in that kind of hostile environment day in and day out, to have insults and threats thrown at them their entire shift, and to endure while mostly being on their own has got to wear them down in the worst way. He's my hero for doing this. For continuing to do his best when the worst is what he's hearing and seeing.  Please pray for him. Please pray for his safety and stamina and the courage to "keep on keepin on."  And, please pray that he will continue to do well in school, that his heart and mind would stay focused on his goal, that he will finish the race well in September, and that he will get in to a really great department.  And, while you're at it :), please pray for our marriage and our family as we have very little time together.  Our weekends are precious, but those will soon be gone, as he will be scheduled to work mandatory overtime often.

This is but a season! *nodding my head*

Thanks, y'all. I hope your week has been as blessed as mine has been so far.

23 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Ok, there is a pregnancy highlights post below, but I COULD NOT RESIST posting these pics of Jack.  He is pure sunshine 97% of the day.  The other 3% of grumpiness happens usually during dinner (or those moments he's really feeling the separation anxiety), and I blame it on being tired.

How far along:  23 weeks

Size of baby:  Baby Girl is 8 or so inches long (crown to rump), 11 or so inches crown to feet--the size of a papaya (and she was weighing 1 lb 2 oz at my appointment)

Total weight gain/loss:  Holy moly, y'all.  As of my appointment last week, I have gained 12 1/2 pounds this pregnancy.  12 1/2 pounds! What on earth? I have got to get back into walking and doing pilates.  That's just absurd! I compared my pictures with my previous pregnancies, and I look (and feel!) so much bigger this time around.  Guess I need to cut back on the ice cream :(

Maternity clothes:  Maternity jeans, capris, and shirts.  Regular shirts and maxi skirts.

Gender:  a sweet baby girl

Movement:  She has her days.  Some days she moves non-stop.  Some days not so much.

Sleep:  Sleep has been better, and the body pillow is really helping with that.

What I miss:  Being more active.  I miss having the gym to go to whenever I want....not that I'd have tons of time now to go, but I do miss having the option.

Cravings:  Chocolate shakes, chocolate milk, ice cream, sea salt and vinegar chips

Symptoms:   A teeny bit of eczema and running to the bathroom often

Exercise:  Ah.  Ahem.

Belly Button in or out:  Oh, I don't even want to talk about it.

Wedding ring on or off: On :)

Happy or moody most of the time: I've been in a pretty good mood this week! Yay!

Looking forward to:  Hmmm.  I'm not sure.  I guess getting another good report at the doctor's office at my next appointment.

Best moment this week:  Seeing Baby Girl and feeling her move often.  I hadn't felt her in a while, so just now I said her name and rubbed my belly, and she started kicking.  That was a smile moment :)

Five Facts Friday and 10 Months Old!

1.  Wednesday, I had a prenatal appointment.
They measured my belly three times, and each time they only shower that I was measuring 18 or 19 weeks when I'm supposed to be measuring 22. So, just to be safe, the doctor ordered an ultrasound to see if anything was amiss. The Bestie went back with me that afternoon because I was pretty anxious, and I didn't want to be alone.
Everything looked fine (that we could tell...I suppose I'll have to wait for my doctor to look at everything, too), and we got a few sweet shots of Little Miss :). She's was measuring 22 weeks 1 day (according to the calendar, I was 22 weeks 3 days), and it showed her weighing 1 pound 2 ounces.

2.  Speaking of the doctor...because of my history with losing Hadley at almost 24 weeks, and because I went into preterm labor with Jack twice (at 32-ish weeks and 36 weeks), my doctor wants to monitor me very closely beginning at the 24-week mark.
This means I will be going in for an NST (non-stress test) twice a week from that point until I go into labor. I counted up all of the NST appointments and the other scheduled monthly, bi-monthly, and weekly appointments, and if I make it to my due date, I will visit that office at least 41 times. 41 appointments in the next 4 1/2 months.

3.  My mom rocks.
Seriously.
I showed her that list of appointments, and she didn't complain or grumble at all. You see, she's Jack's  babysitter when I have appointments. So that means, for the next 4 1/2 months, she's going to be very busy! Except for the week she and Dad go on vacation (when I will have to find someone to watch Jack for an hour and a half two mornings--any volunteers lol?), two to three mornings a week, she will get to feed and play with and love on my boy. I say "get to" because she doesn't see it as a burden. She's a great Nana :) and a wonderful mom.

4.  The weather has been simply lovely this week. We've walked to the park three times with Jack, and he has loved the swing and has enjoyed looking at everything around him.
Yesterday, my sister came by for lunch, and the three of us walked there together. She took some great pictures of him for me!  I bought him some sunglasses and a hat, and we tried them out for the first time. He tolerated them well :) And, he managed to look like the coolest kid on the block ;)

5.  Today, Jack is 10 months old!!! Where has the time gone?

Two Things Tuesday (4/8)

1.  Yesterday, Jack started doing two new things--both in his bed when he should have been napping. He has learned to sit up on his own from being on all fours, and he's learned to pull up on the railing. We had to lower his mattress last night.
This was me around Jack's age. I'm sure he'll be doing something similar soon :)

2.  The weather has been soooo beautiful today (albeit a bit on the blustery side wind-wise). I hope it stays like this for a few days, so I can get Jack down to the park again. Before doing so, I need to find him some sunglasses or a hat that he'll keep on. I don't even know where to look. Target? A children's store? Hmmm.

22 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Each Sunday, I'd like to do a highlights post, including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from Kelly.  I did this with my pregnancies with Hadley and with Jack, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along:  22 weeks

Size of baby:  Baby Girl is 8 inches long (crown to rump), 11 inches crown to feet--the size of a spaghetti squash.

Total weight gain/loss: I head to my doctor's office this week, so I should find out how much I've gained in the last month.

Maternity clothes:  same 'ol thing (pajamas, jeans, comfy shirts)

Gender: A sweet baby girl

Movement:  She's had very active moments this week!

Sleep:  Sleeping has been ok; there have actually been a few nights where I haven't had to get up to go to the bathroom, but there are still many nights that I switch sides often.

What I miss:  Hmmm.  My sanity? Hahahahahahah.

Cravings: Chocolate milk; I've had a hankering for sea salt and vinegar chips, but I haven't indulged in that craving.

Symptoms:   Sleeping discomfort, a little eczema on my leg, and hormonal issues

Exercise: Um.  I got nothing.

Belly Button in or out: Yuck.

Wedding ring on or off: On :)

Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy :)

Looking forward to: My appointment this week and hearing her heartbeat

Best moment this week:  Feeling Baby Girl kick so often

22 Weeks
(I put on jeans for this picture. I had on cut-off pajama pants that The Husband made fun of because the legs are uneven and stringy and will apparently fray in the wash because I won't sew them.  And, I wore that shirt yesterday.  Just keeping it real, People.)

Five Facts Friday (4/4)

1.  I almost never wear shoes anymore unless I'm leaving the house.
I am the stereotypical "barefoot and pregnant" woman and proud of it. Shoes are uncomfortable and get in the way (except they do serve a purpose outside, as I do not like walking on concrete or in dirt barefooted).

2.  The Husband starts his new job next week, and we are both thrilled and nervous :)

3. I think Jack will be crawling soon. He's great at getting from sitting to all fours, but then he usually slides to his belly from there. These "new" things happening are so neat to watch!

4. He's also been dealing with some separation anxiety. If I leave the room for even a few minutes, he often gets upset. If others hold him or even look at him while sitting/standing nearby, he has to see me at all times. I was starting to worry that I'd done something to make him this clingy and that he wasn't getting enough independent playtime (which he probably isn't, but finding a room where no one goes for any length of time is a challenge), and then I read this article and felt much better :)

5.  And finally, I should have written a "Thankful Thursday" post about this yesterday, but I was too tired to form sentences. We sold the condo yesterday morning!  We signed our papers Wednesday, and they signed theirs yesterday, and now we can breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Thank you, God! And, thank you, Bridget, our wonderful realtor!

Wordless Wednesday (4/2)
