Five Facts Friday (2/28) and a Poll

Image
1.  So we made the big announcement yesterday!   If you missed it, you might want to head on over here before reading any further. 2.  Yesterday's appointment was a strange one for us.   I'm nearly 17 weeks, and that was the first time (due to insane and completely frustrating insurance issues that I've been dealing with since right after we first found out a week before Christmas) that I've gone to the doctor this time around. Seeing the ultrasound was even more bizarre because we're used to seeing an itty-bitty little one at the beginning. To see a baby with little, but distinct features and moving those arms and legs and fingers and to see the space being taken up by that almost 5-inch torso was crazy.  I'll go back in two weeks to meet with the midwife and/or doctor. Then, sometime in the next three weeks, I'll have my 18-20 week growth scan (more in depth ultrasound) to make sure all looks well. Please pray for me regarding that and pray for B

Thankful Thursday (2/27) -- It's Kind of a Big Deal

Image
Thankful Thursday.  I think today I have something incredible to be thankful for.  No, I know it.  DESPITE the fact that The Husband and I had an argument this morning in the car (which resulted in a decidely-sour mood for a few hours thereafter), and DESPITE the fact that Jack refused to eat lunch and therefore went down for his nap on a basically-empty stomach (which, again, frustrated me to no end), we saw something that took our breaths away hours before all of that took place.  Jack, would you like to share? If he could nod, I know his head would bob in the affirmative.  Did you catch it?  If not, here's what The Husband and I saw on this gorgeous, chilly, Southeast Texas day in the warmth of a dimly-lit room.  So, there you have it. The secret we've held onto for months now.  If this little one holds fast and true to the due date we've been given, Jack and Baby #3 will be almost exactly 14 months apart. Almost exactly to the

Five Facts Friday (2/21)--updated with video

1.  Jack is doing really well in his new bed. He goes down for naps without a hitch, and he's doing really great at night. The only thing I've noticed is that with all that free bed space he has now, he moves A LOT.  Every time I go in to get him after he's woken from a nap or to get him in the morning after a full night's sleep, I find him turned from where he had been when I laid him down. In the mornings, he's usually turned a full 180 degrees and on his side. He's a mess. A very cute mess.  2. The Husband completed the next part of the application/interview process for the job he's hoping to get soon. He has an interview with them next week.  Please keep him in your prayers. His schooling is still going well; although, I think they've reached a slightly boring part. I know he'll be happy when they move onto a new topic in another week or so.  3. I'm contemplating reading a book called  The Fault in Our Stars . Have any of you read it?

New Things

I'm posting because I just don't want to forget these moments. 1.  Two days ago, Jack started getting in at least one tooth. I can feel (and see now) two very sharp points on his bottom gums. So, very soon, our beautifully-toothless, adorably-gummy boy will be showing off his pearly whites! 2.  Sometime during his last nap today, he rolled to his side and finished out his nap like that. He's always slept on his back, never showing any interest in sleeping on his side or his tummy, so this was pretty exciting to see when I went in to get him up. I wish I could have taken a picture. So precious.  3. The Husband worked tirelessly on putting together our brand new baby bed (Thank you soooo much, Nana and Grampa!) this afternoon, and Jack is sleeping in his big boy crib (that will one day be a toddler bed and then all-too-soon will be a regular size bed) tonight for the first time. I'm about to go take a peek :)

Five Facts Friday (2/14)

1.  Sunday is my birthday. My parents are getting me an ice cream cake.  I'm excited! About the cake; not about the birthday.  2.  Jack is in constant motion. When he's sitting on the blanket, he's rocking and leaning and falling and chewing on anything he can get his hands on and his mouth around. When he's in his jumper/activity thing, he's spinning and grabbing and bouncing. When he's sitting in my lap, and we're trying to take a picture, he's all over the place.  I love him.  3.  I put actual clothes on instead of staying in pajamas most of the day. So there's that. Jack also wore actual clothes today :).  He looks less like a baby in actual clothes though, and I'm not ready for that quite yet, so I think we'll stick with cute, cuddly onesie/footed pajamas for his daily wear :) 4.  It's was a gorgeous day. So, I fixed tons of baby food. I don't know what it is about cloudy, cold wea

1.  Jack's 8 months old!  I DO NOT know where the time has gone! He is sweet and squishy and lovely and giggly and determined and inquisitive and vocal and we love him to bits. More so every day. 2. And, here he is :)
