Five Facts Friday (7/11)

1.  I wrote this whole post and forgot to hit "save."  So, now I'm trying to remember what I wrote. Ugh.

2.  How is it Friday already?! This week has flown by since Ella and I left the hospital on Sunday.  She has been such a sweet addition.  Mostly her schedule is sleep, nurse, repeat.  However, the last few days she's been opening her eyes more and taking in what she can see of her surroundings, so she and I have enjoyed having a little "wake time". But, this is what I have the pleasure of seeing most of the time. The sleepy newborn stage is so pleasant ;)

3.  Jack. Oh, Jack. 
He's really having a hard time getting back into a routine.  He really enjoyed the freedom and attention he had while I was gone, and he's not giving that up without a fight. We'll get there though. I'm thinking as soon as we've gotten his new room mostly ready, he can come have independent playtime in his room to start getting used to being in there. He and I did start having some learning time together yesterday, and he did so well. I'm currently investigating other fun, educational toddler ideas, so if you have any (that are free or cheap!), send 'em my way!

4.  My Uncle Larry and Aunt Jan sent Jack and Ella the cutest, softest stuffed animals!  Jack's is a puppy, and he was giving it hugs and dragging it around with him yesterday. He also enjoyed unpacking and repacking the tissue paper in the box they came in :)

5.  I recently read two blog posts on raising Irish twins. This one and this one. Since my kiddos are almost Irish twins (18 days shy, darn!!), I found such reassurance in reading what those gals had to say. I'm thankful people share their experiences online like that. And, I can truly say that so far, I am very much loving being the mommy of my two little ones :D

    My sister and I are nearly Irish twins. We were born 13 months apart. Mom said that she was glad that she had us so close together. She felt that it offered many more benefits than challenges.

Monday Musings (5/4)

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. Thank you for praying!

**Hehehehe. My blog post title made me giggle.** If you stayed tuned and saw on FB that we'd be announcing this afternoon, then you're in luck.  So, without further adieu, Jack and Ella will be doing the honors.  Now, go on ahead and post in the comments what you guessed :) I was right early on but then changed my mind, so any guess was a good one!
