To Jack--With Love on Your 1st Birthday


Sweet Jack, 

You are officially one year old today!
This first year with you has taken our breaths away. 
You are a delight and a joy and a wonder of a boy. 
You giggle and grin and blow kisses and melt our hearts. 


You speedily crawl from one adventure to the next and only stop to smile or lay your head on our legs or shoulders for a quick breather.
 

You are sweet and funny and charming and full of spunk. 


You love to be loved and to love on us in return.  
You are a great eater with your almost 6 teeth--almost because you have 4 teeth all the way in and two halfway there. Your toothy smiles are pretty contagious. 


You have turned our lives upside down in only the best ways, and we can't remember what life was like before we met you. 

Daddy and I love you to the moon and back, Monkey, and we thank God daily that He has allowed us to be your parents!

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. **Hehehehe.
