A Day Later

So yesterday was Friday, and I would have done a "five facts Friday" post except I only had two things to share. So here are a few things that happened yesterday. 

I went grocery shopping at the local "everything" store, and as I was looking for refried beans to restock the pantry, I noticed something odd. Can we say, "one of these things is not like the others?" 
Actually, two of those things, haha, but still. Apple and cherry pie filling don't quite seem to fit with Mexican food items...

Also, yesterday was our "exploration day" on our summer weekly learning activity schedule, and while we were playing on the porch, I found this little guy.
He's currently residing on our kitchen table, so that he doesn't kill my marigold plants with his voracious appetite! He seems to be thriving according to the many, many deposits he's left at the bottom of the jar. Ew.

Monday Musings (5/4)

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. Thank you for praying!

**Hehehehe.
