Two Things Tuesday (7/29)

1.  So, she's one month old today :)
(One of her great-grandmothers made the blanket--isn't it pretty?!)
I couldn't get her to wake up for anything. Haha, I guess that's what I get for nursing her first ;)
I wanted to put her in a cloth diaper like I did with Jack's pictures, but she's too tiny and she STILL hasn't lost her umbilical cord stub thing. Good grief!

2.  I went to the library and got my library card!  I even checked out two actual hold-in-my-hand-turn-the-pages books :)
I started reading the first one, and although I know they both (the second is the sequel) were in the "juvenile" section, the content and language (innuendo) in the first book is not something I would recommend for anyone under 17. But, the storyline is great so far! You can read the entire first chapter here, I believe.

    Ella Hope is just so very precious! I know you love every minute of holding her close. Since she is a little girl, it's okay if she is fully clothed instead of just in a diaper for her monthly pictures!! Love you.

    P.S. Glad you got your library card - we do have a very nice library! :)

      I probably won't put her in just a diaper :). I was thinking I'd find some white or light-colored/pastel shirts in different sizes and dress her in those and the same cloth diaper to show growth.

Monday Musings (5/4)

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. Thank you for praying!

**Hehehehe.
