Two Things Tuesday (7/23)

Two Things

1). This little guy is 6 weeks old today! 


I didn't do a "what's happening with Jack" post when he turned a month old, so I might as well do one now!  

What's happening with Jack? 
Well...
~He's far more alert these days and usually seems to enjoy tummy-time and the times he lays against my propped up legs while listening to me sing songs to him like "The Wheels on the Bus," "How Much is that Doggie in the Window?," and other nursery songs. 

~He hates to be swaddled, but he sleeps like a pro when he is.

~He sleeps like an even bigger pro with the sound of rain I play on this awesome app my mother-in-law told me about. 

~Speaking of sleep...he's now (normally...but last night was a different story) at 4 1/2 hours, 3 hours, and 2 hours between feedings at night. It's soooo much better than the every 1 1/2 to 2 hours between feedings we were working with a few weeks ago. 

~He's a great eater! So much so, that he has what we lovingly refer to as his "triple chin."  He goes for 2 to 3 hours between feedings during the day. Three weeks ago, I thought I'd never get used to nursing. Now, I look forward to our sweet time together! What a blessing!

~He hasn't smiled yet. I watch for the slightest hint of it every day! 

2.  The Husband and I are celebrating our 2-year anniversary today!  
Happy anniversary, My Dear!  What a ride it's been so far!

~I'm in the mood to decorate my backyard with beautiful flowers, especially along the fence line. I was thinking rose bushes. But, then. I get email notifications from a company called Joss & Main often with discounted prices and good deals, and today's email showed that, among other things, they had their garden items on sale. I clicked on over and saw the prettiest hydrangeas! I ADORE hydrangeas. We had them in our wedding, and they were so simple and beautiful. Unfortunately, they already sold out of all of their hydrangeas!!  BOO.  I'll keep looking around to find some good deals.  If you're also in the gardening mood, check out their sales . Maybe they'll have the plant, garden item, outdoor furniture, or other item for around the house you're searching for. ~Saturday morning, my mom and I took the kids to our local consignment shop. They were having a birthday/reopening/moving celebration and had prizes and food and a man doing face painting.

Introducing....

I know I left you all in suspense. Right now I'm running on very little sleep (we were awake for 25 hours straight, & I've slept an hour and 45 minutes total since then), so this is more informative and less story-like--his birth story will come later. I have to tell it, at some point, because it was nothing short of amazing.  And traumatic.  And I may have to gather more details from those who might remember it more clearly. So, without further ado... (And with a very grainy picture from my iPad taken in the early light of day--6:45), I'd like to introduce you to our son. Jack Campbell Born on 6-11-13 at 1:11 am (he's almost 6 hours old) Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces (praise God!!) and measuring 18.5 inches long.  He's entirely too precious for words.  We feel ridiculously tired and immeasurably blessed. Thank you for praying!

**Hehehehe. My blog post title made me giggle.** If you stayed tuned and saw on FB that we'd be announcing this afternoon, then you're in luck.  So, without further adieu, Jack and Ella will be doing the honors.  Now, go on ahead and post in the comments what you guessed :) I was right early on but then changed my mind, so any guess was a good one!
