12 Weeks - Pregnancy #2
Each Sunday, I'd like to do a highlights post, including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week. I totally "grabbed" this idea from Kelly. I did this with my pregnancy with Hadley, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on. I'll probably write these on Saturday nights and attach the picture the next day. That way I can stay semi-technology free :)
So, here we go!
So, here we go!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 12 weeks
Size of baby: The Little One is about 2 1/2 inches long and about the size of a large plum.
Total weight gain/loss: As of my last checkup, I had lost four pounds. So, I suppose once I start gaining I'll count what I weigh currently as my starting weight and go from there.
Maternity clothes: No maternity clothes so far. I'm still wearing my same clothes: jeans, tops, dresses, slacks, etc. I do lounge around the house quite a bit in pajamas or the clothes I'd normally wear when working out.
Gender: At our last appointment, the technician and the doctor were both 99.9% sure of their gender guess. I'd like to wait until I'm a little farther along, and I've had another ultrasound before making that announcement. There's always that chance they could be wrong; though small it may be. We're still pondering names. Like before, I have my favorites, and he has his. We'll see what comes of that!
Movement: I haven't felt any big movements yet; I will say, though, occasionally, I'll feel something that makes me pause.
Sleep: I've been sick with the cold from H*ll, and because it's difficult to sleep when one can't breathe, I haven't gotten the number of Zzzzs I was hoping I'd get during these weeks of extreme exhaustion. The last two nights, though, have been MUCH better.
What I miss: Hmmm, queso at Mexican food restaurants.
Cravings: Frosty's from Wendy's
Symptoms: *I'm tired. Oh so tired. I want to lie down ALL. DAY. LONG.
*I had pretty bad morning sickness the last four weeks or so, but the last day or so, it seems to have let up some.
*I'm crazy emotional. Like cry at the drop of a hat emotional.
Exercise: We had to give up our membership at the gym we belonged to, so I've been trying to exercise elsewhere. We've been on walks at the park before the weather got super cold. I tried out pregnancy pilates videos, and I try to incorporate those stretches daily. I'm hoping to get back to the park soon, because I know walking is really important. We can also take walks around our complex when the weather is nice.

Best moment this week: Seeing our new precious little one at the specialist appointment on Monday and knowing that God is at work.
I'm excited and nervous and anxious and pondering. Constantly. It's a roller-coaster ride for sure. I'm trying very hard to remain calm, to focus on today and not let my mind race to the future as it tends to do, and to just enjoy each day of this journey. I so appreciate your prayers for The Husband and me as we continue on together. It's a tough road, but it's filled with really wonderful moments along the way.
The Husband kept taking pictures before I was reading, and this is my "I have to stop laughing first" pose :)

Looking good, little momma! So glad the morning sickness has lessened. Now, it's time to start putting on some of that pregnancy weight. So many people asked about you in church this morning, and I was so happy to tell everyone (that includes "praise" time for the whole church) your specialist appointment went well. We are continuing to lift up this sweet baby. Be at peace - God is good!! Love you.
