Thirty Days of Thankfulness - Take Two - Day 13

I almost forgot to write this!  Tonight, I'm thankful that, even though my husband works an awful lot during the week, we do get to enjoy three days in a row together as a family. This "weekend," he has gotten to play with and snuggle with our kids, and he and I have gotten to spend quality time catching up and relaxing.  We even got to watch two great movies together the last two nights after the kiddos were snoozing ( Interstellar and Inside Out )! Thank you, Lord, for The Husband's days off. I appreciate them almost as much as he does :)

Another Busy Weekend

This past weekend, The Husband and I drove down to my parents' house.  Our weekend was jam-packed with events and time spent visiting family and friends, and even though it was exhausting, it was well worth it.   Friday night, we (along with my mom) met up with my aunt and her family and two of my best friends at a benefit concert for the music program at the high school I graduated from.  We had the best time, and Home Free did not disappoint!  If you ever have the opportunity to see them live, do it!  You won't regret it.    Sometimes I feel like I've known these girls forever ;) Waiting for the show to start! Saturday night, my parents, The Husband, and I got all dressed up and headed out to attend the wedding of a guy I've known since middle school.  We were in youth group together, as well.  It was a simple, beautiful wedding.  I'm so happy he's found the perfect gal for him! The reception was like a youth group re...

Weekend Events

Y'all, we had a wonderful, crazy-eventful weekend!  I hope yours was just as lovely :) Friday, around noon, I received a text from my sweet friend Tina saying she had two extra tickets and wanted to know if we'd like to join them at a gala benefiting Redeemed Ministries  that evening.  The Husband and I were excited because it's an organization/ministry we TRULY believe in.  I've spoken about it on here before briefly, but this ministry is one that is truly caring for "the least of these."  I am appalled at the numbers of girls in the UNITED STATES who are caught up and are then trapped in the human sex-slave industry.  Please check out their website.  Watch their videos and read about their mission.  And then, like the speaker said Friday night, pray for these girls and this organization; donate what you can to help these girls start a new, safe, redeemed life; or get involved. A sweet little surprise was waiting for us when we got to the ga...
