Two Things Tuesday (9/27)

1. Today is my daddy's birthday! Happy birthday, Dad! You're one of the most generous and kind and loving men I know.  We all love you! 2.  This girl is a character.  She pouts, then makes sure we see her "fake pouting," then she beams.  She has been one of the sweetest, most loving little girls these last few weeks.  We have so enjoyed being with her.

24 Weeks - Pregnancy #4

Each Monday, I'd like to do a  highlights post , including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from  Kelly .  I've done this with my three previous pregnancies (you can go to the search box and type in "pregnancy," or "week #" if you're interested in how my previous pregnancies progressed), as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.   Pregnancy Highlights: How far along :  24  weeks  Size of baby:   This little one is about a foot long  (head to toe) about the length of an ear of corn Total weight gain/loss :  I'm up 10 pounds total as of my last appointment a few weeks ago.  Maternity clothes:   spaghetti strap shirts, loose skirts or summery dresses, and cute/comfy shorts Gender:   boy :) 💙 Movement :  He's a pretty active little guy  Sle

Thankful Thursday (9/22)

How is it already Thursday?! I had great intentions of blogging this week, but a lot of things popped up and snagged my attention away from this space.   My mom showcased her new trimmer and leaner self .   You'd think she'd been doing more exercise than the 2 or 3 times a week mall-walking trips, but nope.  She just stuck to cleansing and drinking her protein shakes and eating healthy meals and snacks.  Her body did the rest.  Kinda phenomenal what the body can do when toxins are being removed from the equation.     I've been working with several people this week on getting them set up to succeed with their health goals, and I've been so ridiculously excited to wake up every morning (even on little sleep, haha!) knowing that I get to help people feel better just by loving, serving, and caring about them.   Bible study was wonderful, and I'm still super pumped I have the opportunity each week to attend with women from all over the community.  The

Thankful Thursday (9/15)

I have four things in particular to be thankful for today. 1. I'm thankful for a warranty on our washing machine.  The transmission (did you know your washing machine has a transmission?!   I sure didn't.) had to be replaced yesterday.  But, the thing still isn't working correctly, so another technician will be coming out early next week to figure out what's going on. We're really grateful that we arent having to pay the cost to fix these issues.   2. I'm thankful that for the first time in over 4 years, I'm finally involved in a women's Bible study again. A friend I met at church invited me, and I'm so looking forward to being in God's Word daily and meeting with those gals weekly.  I'm thankful The Husband has off those mornings to be able to spend quality time with Jack and Ella.  I know it will become a sweet time for them once they get used to being with him and relying on him.  ;) 3.  I'm thankful that I was able to locate these for

1.  Yesterday, we got some news regarding The Husband's health. It explains a lot of the problems he's been having over the last year. And although it can be a scary diagnosis, it also is reversible with diet, namely an alkaline diet. I am SO thankful we've had him on Isagenix foods and supplements the last 6 weeks. It is healing him inside out. They have done amazing things for his body. Now that we have another piece of the puzzle, we can continue to work on ridding his body of the toxins that have made him so sick. I keep thanking God for bringing these foods into our lives and for His guiding hand in all of this, and I'm grateful I get to share it with others and help them find solutions for better health.  2.  I got tired of looking at the empty pots on my porch (I managed to kill everything I planted in the spring), so while Jack was in speech today, I ran to the local plant nursery and gathered up some pretty fall plants. Mums, marigolds, and two crowns of thorns

Today, I'm thankful for a really lovely and really productive day.  I snapped a few pictures of Jack heading to his third speech lesson since I missed his first one, and it totally poured buckets of rain on his second one.  Here he is with his sweet speech teacher. She brought him out to the car afterward, and he said, loudly and proudly, "Jack obeyed well!"  He showed me his sticker with glee :) She said he does really well for her, and he seems to really enjoy spending time with her on those two mornings each week. I hope his love of learning continues.  I came home to find The Husband and his friend and his friend's wife hanging out on the porch.  The two of them were a big blessing to us today, and we now have very heavy materials (walls and flooring) upstairs just waiting to be installed. So, so thankful for their help. They stayed for lunch, and we visited for a while. It's nice to make new friends :) This afternoon, The Husband

Scrumptious Saturday

I'm feeling pretty yucky today, and I have no drive to do much of anything, and that includes fixing meals. But since The Husband is working a double, and I don't have any leftovers, I decided to try out a version of a video recipe I saw this morning for lunch today. Next time, I'll whip up a batch of cream cheese and feta crescent rolls to go along with it. Here's my take on the omelets in the video based on what I had in my kitchen: 8 eggs 3 handfuls of shredded cheese 1 handful of chopped, frozen spinach  Salt Pepper Garlic powder  A couple of splashes of milk All ingredients whisked together Scooped into muffin tin compartments with space (I obviously underestimated the space they would fill lol) to rise Baked at 350* for 20 minutes Enjoyed :)

Today, I'm thankful for a great first visit with my fetal maternal specialist this week.  He was so kind and gentle, and he had positive things to say. The baby looks great, I DO have two kidneys, and I need to take is easier, but I don't have to be on bed rest :)  I go back in six weeks to see him for another ultrasound, but I'm so glad everything looks good so far!  I'm thankful The Husband and my mother-in-law got to go with me, and I'm so thankful we all got to see his sweet face  😍
