(Non-)Wordless Wednesday with Some Words for the Bestie (4/20)

Happy birthday, Bestie! You're fantastic, and I'm so glad our friendship has survived 20+ years of ups and downs and husbands and kids and jobs and life.  May your day be filled with more love and laughter than you can stand! (I know you feel SUPER special because this is the first song he's sung!!!)

Thankful Thursday (4/14)

Today, I'm thankful for the giant stack of hand-me-down undies The Bestie gave us for Ella.  We're on day 4 of our potty training adventure, and we've used probably half of them. This is what's left. *side note -- little girl undies are the cutest thing! When she has accidents, I just throw them in the diaper pail, and they get washed when the pail is full of nap and nighttime diapers. Handy :) I'm thankful for having TONS of extra undies to help us out as she learns to do her business in the toilet and not on my floor.

It's Her Birthday

Warning:  this blog post contains poor-quality pictures from the late 90s and early 2000s of girls with sad style (both hair and clothing).  Viewer discretion is advised.  It's my best friend's birthday today.  I have known her since 6th grade.  This girl knows me, and I know her. We can talk for hours about nothing and everything.  We kinda rock this friendship thing.  We have been BBFs (best buds forever, duh!) for over 20 years. Geez, when did we get old?! What follows is a brief recounting of a few memories brought to life in horrible quality pictures of pictures.  You're welcome.  I went upstairs last night to page through my old photo albums--those things we used before we had a camera in our phone with 1000s of pictures saved to it--and f...

Busy days

This past weekend was busy, and I just didn't have a minute to sit and type up a post about our few days with The Bestie.  She (with her sweet baby in tow) got here Thursday around lunch time.  She gave me this sweet necklace charm from my favorite jewelry store; isn't it gorgeous? The stone in the middle is Hadley's birthstone.  I just love it, and I've worn it every day since. Thank you, Sweet Friend, for such a beautiful, thoughtful gift. I get to carry her with me. We hung out here at the house, chatting and catching up, and then the four of us met The Husband's mom and sister at the gym.  Those gals offered to take care of the baby while we went to one of our weekly classes up there.  Y'all, my best friend is so dang skinny, and she NEVER works out nor does she have to, but I convinced her to go to the class with us.  I think she thought she was dying back there (with all those dirty looks she kept giving me!), but she toughed it out, and altho...
