25 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Each Sunday, I'd like to do a  highlights post , including a picture, summarizing the differences in my pregnancy from week to week.  I totally "grabbed" this idea from  Kelly .  I did this with my pregnancies with Hadley and with Jack, as well, and I still think it is a great way to jot down the things that I don't want to forget later on.  Pregnancy Highlights: How far along :  25 weeks Size of baby:   Baby Girl is 9 or so inches long (crown to rump)--the size of an eggplant--  12 or so inches crown to feet Total weight gain/loss : At my appointment last Friday, the scale showed that I've gained 15 pounds so far. Holy.  Moly. Maternity clothes:   Pajamas, shorts, maxi skirts, and shirts.  Maternity dresses and tops. Gender:   A sweet baby girl :) Movement :  She was very, very active during both non-stress tests I had last week, but other than those days, either I'm too busy to notice or she's in a position that I don't feel

The Name Game - Revisited

I promised a week ago that I'd post a name poll (especially for Aunt Jan!) before they all leave on their trip next week, and I completely forgot about it until 11pm last night.  Oops! Forgotten.  That's my memory lately, Folks. So, this is probably too late for you, Aunt Jan, but here it is anyway.  Have fun voting! Oh, and Mom, you better put your poker face on when Aunt Jan grills you ;) Just practice smiling and saying, "You'll find out in August!" :D I loved ALL of these! The Husband...not so much!  Which name is your favorite, or which do you think we've chosen for our baby girl?   Sawyer Hope   Ella Hope   Hensley Hope   Lillian Hope   Everly Hope   Laurel Hope    pollcode.com free polls

Maternity clothes:   Maternity jeans and shirts; regular dresses, shirts, maxi skirts, and comfy cotton shorts Gender:   A very kicky b

Monday, Monday

Well, this was originally a "Five Facts Friday" post, but since I haven't gotten around to finishing it until just now, I don't think I can treat it as such, haha.  I've got a few neat things to share first, and then I'll end with a prayer request.  The last week has been filled with so many new things.  Jack started cutting a tooth early last week.  A few fun-filled days later, and he's the proud owner of three teeth. The new one is the top left one. I always thought they made their entrance in pairs. Haha, he's looking a little funny (but so cute!) with two on the bottom and a lone tooth on the top :) Near the end of last week, our boy finally began pulling himself up on chairs and the coffee table and the play pen and in bed! And is he ever proud of himself?! We're pretty pleased, too! Then, just this afternoon, he began crawling! He's been scooting in circles and backwards for a few weeks, but today he began m

23 Weeks - Pregnancy #3

Ok, there is a  pregnancy highlights post below, but I COULD NOT RESIST posting these pics of Jack.  He is pure sunshine 97% of the day.  The other 3% of grumpiness happens usually during dinner (or those moments he's really feeling the separation anxiety), and I blame it on being tired. Pregnancy Highlights: How far along :  23 weeks Size of baby:   Baby Girl is 8 or so inches long (crown to rump), 11 or so inches crown to feet--the size of a papaya (and she was weighing 1 lb 2 oz at my appointment) Total weight gain/loss :  Holy moly, y'all.  As of my appointment last week, I have gained 12 1/2 poun

Five Facts Friday and 10 Months Old!

1.  Wednesday, I had a prenatal appointment. They measured my belly three times, and each time they only shower that I was measuring 18 or 19 weeks when I'm supposed to be measuring 22. So, just to be safe, the doctor ordered an ultrasound to see if anything was amiss. The Bestie went back with me that afternoon because I was pretty anxious, and I didn't want to be alone. Everything looked fine (that we could tell...I suppose I'll have to wait for my doctor to look at everything, too), and we got a few sweet shots of Little Miss :). She's was measuring 22 weeks 1 day (according to the calendar, I was 22 weeks 3 days), and it showed her weighing 1 pound 2 ounces. Profile Face 2.  Speaking of the doctor...because of my history with losing Hadley at almost 24 weeks, and because I went into preterm labor with Jack twice (at 32-ish weeks and 36 weeks), my doctor wants to monitor me very closely beginning at the 24-week mark.  This means I will be going

Two Things Tuesday (4/8)

Image
1.  Yesterday, Jack started doing two new things--both in his bed when he should have been napping. He has learned to sit up on his own from being on all fours, and he's learned to pull up on the railing. We had to lower his mattress last night.  This was me around Jack's age. I'm sure he'll be doing something similar soon :)   2.  The weather has been soooo beautiful today (albeit a bit on the blustery side wind-wise). I hope it stays like this for a few days, so I can get Jack down to the park again. Before doing so, I need to find him some sunglasses or a hat that he'll keep on. I don't even know where to look. Target? A children's store? Hmmm.

Total weight gain/loss : I head to my doctor's office this week, so I should find out how much I've gained in the last month. Maternity clothes:   same 'ol thing (pajamas, jeans, comfy shirts) Gender:  A sweet baby girl Movement :  She's had very active moments this week! Sleep :  Sleeping has been ok; there have actually been a few nights where I haven't had to get up to go to the bathroom, but there are still many nights

Five Facts Friday (4/4)

1.  I almost never wear shoes anymore unless I'm leaving the house. I am the stereotypical "barefoot and pregnant" woman and proud of it. Shoes are uncomfortable and get in the way (except they do serve a purpose outside, as I do not like walking on concrete or in dirt barefooted).  2.  The Husband starts his new job next week, and we are both thrilled and nervous :) 3. I think Jack will be crawling soon. He's great at getting from sitting to all fours, but then he usually slides to his belly from there. These "new" things happening are so neat to watch! 4. He's also been dealing with some separation anxiety. If I leave the room for even a few minutes, he often gets upset. If others hold him or even look at him while sitting/standing nearby, he has to see me at all times. I was starting to worry that I'd done something to make him this clingy and that he wasn't getting enough independent playtime (which he probably isn't, but fi
